Meet Dr. Teruo Higa
The Genius Behind EM Technology
Dr Higa is professor emeritus at University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa. He is also the director at the International EM Technology Center of Meio University in Okinawa.
Dr. Higa discovered the genius EM Formula in the 1970s during his search for an alternative method to conventional farming, using beneficial microbes instead of chemicals. It took him ten years to develop the unique EM Formula which consists of only three basic species: Lactic Acid, Phototrophic bacteria, and beneficial Yeast.

EM-1 was originally developed for plant growth.
